Support and networking groups:
- BirthReady 6:30-8 pm Thursday evening Mom group with an IBCLC, Magic Beans in Brookline.
- Mamah babies: Post partum support group with the Mount Auburn Midwives:
- Jewish Children and Family Services: see Family and Community services. //(FAQ: You do not need to be Jewish to participate) They also have a new mom mentor program.
- Somerville Family Network has indoor play & new mom groups
- Watertown Family Network has LOTS of activities to do with kids, and even a Q & A for that 'not newborn but less than 1 year' crowd.
- A Mom is Born Doula run support groups for new moms, near the South End.
- Cambridge Center for Families
http://www.williamjames.edu/community/freedman-center/community-services-overview.cfm (formerly Freedman Center at William James College) in Newton has free new moms and new dads groups, as well as weekly free playtimes; other programs for babies, such as Baby Sign Language and Sleep Workshops. - Me and My Baby support group at MGH - a new moms group lead by a nurse. A Lactation Consultant often joins as well, to answer questions from breastfeeding moms. Meets every Tuesday @ 10:00a - Yawkey building, 2nd floor in one of the conference rooms. Please join with babies one day to 9-12 months old (crawlers may get bored…)
